Return/Exchange Policy
Our mission is to ensure your utmost satisfaction with every purchase. If you are unsatisfied, we offer a hassle-free return/exchange process for eligible items. As advocates of customer satisfaction, we have the utmost regard for delivering exceptional service at Hatchet® Hardware. Notwithstanding anything stated in this Return/ Exchange Policy, Hatchet® Hardware retains the right to individually evaluate and process each return or exchange.
- Most items can be returned within 30 days of purchase if they’re in new and unused condition and you have the original sales receipt. If you can’t find your receipt, we can still process the return if it can be verified under your ACE Hardware Rewards number, or the debit/credit card used to make the purchase. We will not issue a refund for a cash purchase without a receipt – no exceptions.
- Purchases made with a Merchandise/Store Credit or Hatchet® Hardware /ACE Hardware gift card will be refunded as a Merchandise/Store Credit. We may require registration of the Store Credit, which can be done quickly. Please bring a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo identification for registration.
- Non-Refundable Items: There are a few items for which we cannot accept returns, regardless of whether you have the receipt. They are as follows:
- Power tools, hand tools, and items sold without a package that can be used and returned. This includes but is not limited to items like ladders, hammers, shovels, bolt cutters, screwdrivers, and electrical supplies such as circuit breakers, outlets, light bulbs, etc.
- Loose Hardware (nuts & bolts, etc.);
- Seasonal or weather-related items such as Christmas trees, decorations, sleds, ponchos, snow shovels, rakes, generators, ice melt, snow throwers, heaters, pumps, lanterns, garden tools, mowers, grills, and similar products and gas-powered equipment;
- Bathroom products, such as plungers, plumbing snakes, and opened toilet accessories such as toilet seats and flappers;
- Clearance and Discontinued items, and Jewelry, Special orders, Gift cards, Books, Plants, and Paint;
- Items that have been opened, used, damaged, rusted, or soiled;
- We will not make any exceptions to accept any return or exchange for any items sold with the following label on an item and/or receipt, “DUE TO THE UNIQUE NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT, THIS ITEM IS NOT RETURNABLE.”
- To ensure fairness in our return process, we require that items be returned in the same condition as when they were purchased. This condition helps us provide the best service to all our customers, and we reserve the right to deny any returns that do not meet this requirement.
- We stand behind our commitment to excellence if you receive a defective item. We do not provide refunds in such cases but will gladly replace the defective item with an identical one, if available. Bring the original receipt within 30 days of purchase, and we will do our best to ensure you receive a fully functional replacement.
- Apparel can be returned/exchanged within 7 days of purchase. To process the return or exchange, the apparel must be in new, unused condition, with all appropriate tags attached. Remember to bring the original sales receipt!
- All the above also applies to online orders. A 15% restocking fee will be applied for any returned item purchased online that we do not carry at our store.
- Bag Tax is final: We charge a non-refundable tax of $0.05 on all single-use bags, including paper bags, whenever mandated by county or city. This tax promotes environmental preservation by encouraging customers to forego using a bag whenever possible.
- Generators and outdoor equipment must follow manufacturer return policy.
- Returns of chlorine containers are limited to a maximum of 6 quantities per transaction per day.
- A manufacturer’s warranty supersedes all other warranties, expressed or implied and Hatchet® Hardware provides no other warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Any implied warranties that are required by law shall be limited in duration to the terms of the express warranty provided by the manufacturer unless otherwise required by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the foregoing limitation may not apply to you. In no event shall Hatchet® Hardware be liable for incidental or consequential damages, even if such damages are a direct result of Hatchet® Hardware’s negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. The manufacturer’s warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
- Merchandise/Store Credits Issued by Hatchet® Hardware: Merchandise/store credit issued by Hatchet® Hardware for any returns are subject to the following conditions;
- Merchandise/store credit issued by our store shall expire five (5) years from the date of issuance.
- After the expiration of the five years, the merchandise/store credit will no longer be valid and cannot be redeemed for purchases;
- The cardholders are responsible for ensuring the merchandise credit utilization within the specified timeframe;
- Hatchet® Hardware shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to the expiration of the merchandise/store credit;
